project 1

Rancho Santa Fe, CA, Project: Exceptional Materials.

objective

San Diego Architect Ken Ronchetti’s redesign of a rare Rancho Santa Fe, CA modern home required a sleek kitchen update and redesign, away from worn light oak cabinetry and complicated workspaces.

design execution

The owners’ love of black and white photography theme was to continue in the home using black leather furnishings and white walls with natural wood flooring throughout the home. We found a rather unusual finish using bulthaup cabinetry from Germany; dark anthracite linoleum with aluminum, giving the black leather look. It was the perfect fit to the homes theme, completing with stainless countertops and appliances, and with special salt and pepper patterned granite countertop areas.

other areas designed

The adjacent bar area and high built-in buffet divider to the living area was fitted with the same cabinetry, also using glass doors. A breakfast dining table surface was refinished to match the granite in the kitchen. A lighting scheme for the kitchen was created to ensure a completed look.
