Coast Walk Project La Jolla CA: Extended Casual Modern Living
objective
A modern home built by the sea with white-water cove views wanted to be sleek, yet casual enough to reflect the colors of the surroundings. The driving force was the colors of the sea, driftwood, sand and such. Open living was the center theme of the kitchen area, requiring an uncomplicated furniture feel.
design execution
Cabinetry from bulthaup was selected to exude the furniture look required by the openness of the living space, being careful not to overload the upper cabinet area. Colors of the sea were selected in the backsplash paneling, cabinetry and countertops.
other areas designed
Six bathrooms, including the master bath were each designed to reflect different color themes in the cabinetry. Lighting was also a design element integrated into the overall aesthetic scheme.
